Why Was It Created?

Most Classification Systems focus on a specific problem – helping Designers and Engineers find and re-use/consume library parts. While that is a very valid reason for a Classification System to exist, after much research and consideration, it was decided “that was not good enough.” Since most systems are designed for a ‘singluar’ purpose and departmental user base, the skills required to use and interpret the results are often only useful for those with the skills to use them (specifically the designers and engineers).

The NitroMation Warehouse was specifically created to address Classification, Search, and Re-use issues BEYOND the technical/design user base. It was created to include not just technical/engineering users but also everyone else like purchasing, sales/marketing, quality, manufacturing, IT, dealers, aftermarket and catalog groups, and even stand-alone/custom applications.

The NitroMation Warehouse was created to solve the broader problem of truly sharing and consuming information at the enterprise level, not just in a single department.

Because of this overall approach, the SAME interface and functionality can be accessed by ANY web browser on ANY computer from anywhere in the world. The NitroMation Warehouse even seamlessly integrates with PTC’s Pro/ENGINEER.

No Replication Required: Your company depends on the immediacy of quality information, and the NitroMation Warehouse enables it. The NitroMation Warehouse’s various interfaces and methods for searching allow different parts of your global organization (e.g. engineers, purchasing, catalog, after market, sales, dealers and even customers) to securely query and update information in real time, again from anywhere in the world.

Secure: The NitroMation Warehouse can be easily implemented within a matter of weeks and can be integrated with your existing business systems. Its security model can be easily integrated into your existing LDAP services and connected to other business systems bi-directionally via its Web Service API and framework.

The NitroMation Warehouse combines an unmatched ease-of-use with a powerful search capabilities to "challenge" users to reuse items they are searching for; instead of just creating another duplicate part when nothing is found. PDM/PLM systems are great at managing "things" and how they relate to each other (e.g. CAD models, drawings, etc.). However, PDM/PLM systems are not designed for classification and/or knowledge-driven search - these are specialized capabilities.

The NitroMation Warehouse solves some difficult business problems, it provides enterprise-security-driven search and results that supports everyone (beyond just the engineering departments) - this provides unique capabilities.
