How to Install JLINK (Creo Object TOOLKIT Java) for Creo Parametric
Nitro-BOM, Nitro-CELL, and Nitro-PROGRAM all require JLINK to be installed with Creo Parametric to function.
JLINK is a free Application Programming Interface (API) for PTC's Creo Parametric that is, depending on the version, either installed by default or must be installed separately. If JLINK is not installed with Creo Parametric, it can be easily added per the following instructions.
If Creo is missing JLINK, you will see an error when you try to run Nitro-BOM, Nitro-CELL, or Nitro-PROGRAM.
Step 1: Launch the PTC Installation Assistant
Open the PTC Installation Assistant (Application Selection). This is the same tool used to configure your Creo Parametric installation and for installing optional modules and features.
You can find it in your PTC installation directory or via the Windows Start Menu under PTC.
Step 2: Select Creo Parametric → Customize
JLINK is specific to Creo Parametric, so it is important to locate and configure only this application.
- In the Installation Assistant, find Creo / Creo Parametric
- Click Customize
Step 3: Include the Required API Toolkit
In the customization options, find and select the JLINK (Creo Object TOOLKIT - Java) component to be installed with Creo Parametric.
- Look under the API Toolkits section
- Check the box for Creo Object TOOLKIT Java (JLINK)
- Complete the installation
You Should Be Good to Go!
Once the installation completes, JLINK will be available for Nitro-BOM, Nitro-CELL, and Nitro-PROGRAM to use.
