Mapkey Application

Overview

This video demonstrates the Mapkey Application command in Nitro-CELL, which executes a Creo mapkey from an Excel worksheet. Mapkeys are recorded sequences of Creo menu picks and keyboard inputs that automate repetitive UI operations. By triggering mapkeys through Nitro-CELL, engineers can incorporate custom Creo operations into their Excel-driven automation workflows that go beyond the built-in Nitro-CELL commands. The video shows how to reference a mapkey by name, execute it from the worksheet, and verify the operation completed. This extends Nitro-CELL's capabilities to cover virtually any Creo operation that can be recorded as a mapkey.

Key Steps

  1. Create or identify the Creo mapkey you want to execute
  2. Ensure the mapkey is loaded in the Creo session configuration
  3. Enter the Mapkey command with the mapkey name in the execution worksheet
  4. Execute the command to trigger the mapkey in Creo
  5. Verify the mapkey operation completed successfully

Tips

  • Mapkeys must be defined in Creo's config.pro or loaded in the session before execution
  • Use mapkeys to extend Nitro-CELL with custom operations not covered by built-in commands
  • Test mapkeys manually in Creo before automating them through Nitro-CELL
