Get Note

Overview

This video demonstrates the Get Note command in Nitro-CELL, which reads the text content of a note from the active Creo model and writes it back into the Excel worksheet. Notes in Creo are text annotations that can contain revision information, manufacturing instructions, or other metadata. The Get Note command extracts this text for use in Excel-based reporting or data collection workflows. The video shows how to specify the note name, execute the command, and find the returned text in the output column. This is useful for gathering note content from many models into a centralized spreadsheet.

Key Steps

  1. Open the target model in the Creo session
  2. Enter the Get Note command with the note name to read
  3. Execute the command to retrieve the note text from Creo
  4. Find the returned text in the output column of the worksheet
  5. Repeat for additional notes or models as needed

Tips

  • Use Get Note to collect annotation data from models for reporting purposes
  • The returned text includes the full note content including any line breaks
  • Combine with data worksheets to organize note data from multiple models
