HideLayer Model
Overview
This video demonstrates the HideLayer Model command in Nitro-CELL, which hides a specified layer in a Creo model from an Excel worksheet. Layers in Creo control the visibility of different types of geometry such as datum planes, axes, curves, and annotations. The HideLayer command sets a layer's display status to hidden, making all items on that layer invisible in the graphics window. The video shows how to specify the layer name, execute the command, and verify the layer is hidden. This is useful for automating display configurations, especially when preparing models for export or presentation.
Key Steps
- Open the model containing the layer to hide
- Enter the HideLayer command with the layer name
- Execute the command to hide the specified layer
- Verify the layer items are no longer visible in the graphics window
- Save the model to persist the layer display state
Tips
- Use standard Creo layer names for consistent automation across models
- Combine multiple HideLayer commands to set up a complete display configuration
- Hidden layers can be shown again using the ShowLayer command
