DeleteLayer Model

Overview​

This video demonstrates the DeleteLayer Model command in Nitro-CELL, which permanently removes a layer from a Creo model. Deleting a layer removes the layer definition and its item assignments, but does not delete the actual geometry items that were on the layer. The video shows how to specify the layer to delete, execute the command, and verify the layer was removed from the model's layer tree. This is useful for cleaning up obsolete or unnecessary layers during model standardization efforts.

Key Steps​

  1. Open the model containing the layer to delete
  2. Enter the DeleteLayer command with the layer name
  3. Execute the command to remove the layer from the model
  4. Verify the layer no longer appears in the layer tree
  5. Save the model to persist the layer deletion

Tips​

  • Deleting a layer does not delete the geometry items that were assigned to it
  • Use this command for layer cleanup and standardization across models
  • Combine with wildcard variants for bulk layer deletion across many models
