tbl_parameter : SET (wildcard)

Overview​

This video demonstrates the tbl_parameter SET command with wildcard support in Nitro-CELL. This variant allows the model name column in the data table to contain wildcard patterns, enabling a single table row to apply parameter values to multiple models matching the pattern. This is efficient for scenarios where groups of models share the same parameter values, such as setting a common material or revision across a family of parts. The video shows how to use wildcards in the table, execute the command, and verify the parameters were applied to all matching models.

Key Steps​

  1. Create an Excel table with wildcard patterns in the model name column
  2. Define the parameter values to apply for each wildcard pattern
  3. Enter the tbl_parameter SET command referencing the data table
  4. Execute the command to apply values to all models matching each pattern
  5. Verify the parameters were updated on all matching models

Tips​

  • Use specific wildcard patterns to target only the intended model groups
  • Test with a narrow pattern first before applying to broad model sets
  • Combine with Save Wildcard to persist changes across all affected models
