Delete Family Table Model
Overview
This video demonstrates the Delete Family Table Model command in Nitro-CELL, which removes the family table from a Creo model. Deleting a family table converts a generic model back to a standalone model by removing all instance definitions. This is useful when a model no longer needs to support multiple variants or when the family table is causing issues. The video shows how to enter the command, execute it, and verify the family table was removed. It also covers what happens to existing instances when the family table is deleted.
Key Steps
- Open the model containing the family table to delete
- Enter the Delete Family Table command in the execution worksheet
- Execute the command to remove the family table from the model
- Verify the family table was removed by checking the model properties
- Save the model to persist the change
Tips
- Deleting a family table removes all instance definitions — ensure this is intended
- Existing instance files may become orphaned after family table deletion
- Use HasFamilyTbl first to confirm the model has a family table before attempting deletion
