Delete FamilyTable Model Wildcard

Overview​

This video demonstrates the Delete FamilyTable Model Wildcard command in Nitro-CELL, which removes family tables from multiple models matching a wildcard pattern. This is the bulk version of the Delete Family Table command, enabling efficient cleanup across many models at once. The video shows how to construct the wildcard pattern, execute the command, and verify that family tables were removed from all matching models. This is useful for standardization efforts where family tables need to be stripped from a set of models.

Key Steps​

  1. Load all target models into the Creo session
  2. Enter the Delete FamilyTable Wildcard command with the model name pattern
  3. Execute the command to remove family tables from all matching models
  4. Review the status output to confirm which models were affected
  5. Save all modified models to persist the changes

Tips​

  • Use HasFamilyTbl to audit which models have family tables before bulk deletion
  • Test with a narrow pattern first to verify the correct models are targeted
  • Existing instance files may need separate cleanup after family table deletion
