Delete Relations Model

Overview

This video demonstrates the Delete Relations Model command in Nitro-CELL, which removes all relations from the active Creo model. Relations are equations that link dimensions and parameters, and removing them can be necessary when simplifying models for release or when relations are causing regeneration issues. The command clears all relation definitions from the model. The video shows how to enter the command, execute it, and verify that the relations were removed. It also covers when and why you might want to delete relations as part of an automated workflow.

Key Steps

  1. Open the model containing the relations to delete
  2. Enter the Delete Relations command in the execution worksheet
  3. Execute the command to remove all relations from the model
  4. Verify the relations were cleared by checking the model's relation editor
  5. Regenerate and save the model to persist the changes

Tips

  • Deleting relations is permanent — ensure you have a backup if you may need them later
  • Use HasRelations first to check if the model has relations before attempting deletion
  • Regenerate after deleting relations to ensure the model geometry is stable
