Export 3D-PDF Model

Overview

This video demonstrates the Export 3D-PDF Model command in Nitro-CELL, which exports the active Creo model to 3D-PDF format from an Excel worksheet. 3D-PDF files allow recipients to view and interact with 3D model geometry using a standard PDF reader without needing CAD software. The command triggers Creo's 3D-PDF export and saves the output to a specified location. The video shows how to configure the export, specify the output path, execute the command, and verify the 3D-PDF was generated. This is useful for sharing interactive 3D visualizations with stakeholders, customers, or manufacturing teams who do not have Creo access.

Key Steps

  1. Open the model to export in the Creo session
  2. Enter the Export 3D-PDF command with the output path and filename
  3. Execute the command to generate the 3D-PDF file
  4. Verify the file was created in the specified directory
  5. Open the 3D-PDF to confirm interactive 3D viewing works correctly

Tips

  • 3D-PDF files can be viewed in Adobe Acrobat Reader with 3D support enabled
  • Configure display settings in Creo before exporting to control the initial view
  • Use batch worksheets to automate 3D-PDF generation across many models
