Export DXF Model

Overview

This video demonstrates the Export DXF Model command in Nitro-CELL, which exports the active Creo model or drawing to DXF format from an Excel worksheet. DXF is a widely used 2D drawing exchange format compatible with AutoCAD and many other CAD and manufacturing systems. The command triggers Creo's DXF export and saves the output to a specified location. The video shows how to configure the export command, specify the output path, execute the export, and verify the DXF file was generated. This is useful for sharing 2D drawing data with teams that use AutoCAD or for feeding flat pattern data to CNC machines.

Key Steps

  1. Open the model or drawing to export in the Creo session
  2. Enter the Export DXF command with the output path and filename
  3. Execute the command to generate the DXF file
  4. Verify the DXF file was created in the specified directory
  5. Open the DXF in a compatible viewer to confirm the content

Tips

  • DXF export is most useful for 2D drawing data and flat patterns
  • Configure Creo's DXF export settings for the desired layer mapping and scale
  • Use batch worksheets to automate DXF generation across many drawings
