Get MP Vol Model

Overview​

This video demonstrates the Get MP Vol Model command in Nitro-CELL, which retrieves the volume from the mass properties of the active Creo model. Unlike the full Mass Properties command that returns all physical properties, this command specifically extracts the volume value, making it efficient for workflows that only need this single measurement. The video shows how to enter the command, execute it, and read the returned volume value from the output column. This is useful for volume-based calculations, material estimation, or quality checks across multiple models.

Key Steps​

  1. Open the target model in the Creo session
  2. Ensure the model geometry is current by regenerating if needed
  3. Enter the Get MP Vol command in the execution worksheet
  4. Execute the command to calculate and retrieve the volume
  5. Read the volume value from the output column

Tips​

  • Volume is calculated from the model geometry regardless of material assignment
  • Regenerate the model before calculating to ensure accurate volume measurement
  • Use this command for quick volume checks without retrieving all mass properties
