DELETE Creo Parameters from Excel

Overview

This video demonstrates how to delete Creo parameters from multiple models at once using an Excel spreadsheet and Nitro-BOM. Over time, Creo models accumulate obsolete or redundant parameters — legacy fields from old standards, duplicate entries, or parameters that are no longer relevant to your BOM reporting. Manually removing these from each component through Creo's Parameters dialog is tedious and error-prone. Nitro-BOM's delete function lets you specify which parameters to remove in Excel and then execute the deletion across all targeted components in a single operation. The video covers how to set up the Excel file to indicate which parameters should be deleted, how Nitro-BOM processes the deletion requests, and how to verify the parameters were successfully removed. This cleanup workflow helps keep your models lean and your BOM reports free of clutter.

Key Steps

  1. Export the current BOM to identify which parameters exist on your models
  2. In Excel, mark or list the parameters you want to delete
  3. Configure Nitro-BOM for Delete Parameters mode
  4. Execute the deletion to remove the specified parameters from your Creo models
  5. Verify the parameters were removed by re-exporting or checking in Creo

Tips

  • Always back up your models before bulk-deleting parameters — this operation cannot be undone easily
  • Start with a small test set of components before running against the full assembly
  • Use this workflow periodically to clean up legacy parameters and keep models organized
