Nitro-BOM Batch Processing - Parts Only

Overview

This video covers Nitro-BOM's batch processing mode for parts-only operations. Instead of working through an assembly structure, this mode lets you process a list of individual Creo part files in bulk. Nitro-BOM opens each part file, reads or writes parameter data, and moves on to the next — all without requiring the parts to be assembled together. This is ideal for scenarios where you need to update parameters on standalone parts that aren't currently in an assembly context, such as updating vendor information across a library of standard parts, adding new metadata fields to a parts catalog, or exporting parameter data from a collection of unrelated components. The video shows how to define the list of parts to process (via file list or directory scan), configure the operation (export, create, modify, or delete parameters), and execute the batch. This mode is particularly useful for parts library maintenance and bulk metadata updates.

Key Steps

  1. Prepare a list of Creo part files to process, or point to a directory containing them
  2. Launch Nitro-BOM and select the Batch Processing - Parts Only mode
  3. Configure the operation: export, create, modify, or delete parameters
  4. Execute the batch to process each part file sequentially
  5. Review the results in Excel or verify changes in Creo

Tips

  • Parts-only batch mode is ideal for maintaining parts libraries and standard component catalogs
  • Use this when parts aren't assembled together but still need consistent parameter updates
  • Monitor the batch log for any parts that failed to process due to errors
