Suppress Components using Wildcards
Overview
This video demonstrates how to suppress multiple assembly components using wildcard patterns in Nitro-CELL. Instead of suppressing components one at a time, the wildcard variant allows engineers to suppress all components matching a naming pattern in a single operation. This is efficient for managing large assemblies where groups of components need to be suppressed together, such as all fasteners or all components from a specific sub-system. The video shows how to construct the wildcard pattern, execute the suppress command, and verify that all matching components were suppressed in the assembly tree.
Key Steps
- Open the assembly containing the components to suppress
- Enter the Suppress Wildcard command with the component name pattern
- Execute the command to suppress all matching components
- Review the assembly tree to confirm the correct components were suppressed
- Save the assembly to persist the changes
Tips
- Use specific patterns to target only the intended component groups
- Test your wildcard pattern with a small set before applying to the full assembly
- Suppressed components can be resumed individually or in bulk using Resume commands
