Copy Parameter

Overview

This video demonstrates the Copy Parameter command in Nitro-CELL, which copies a parameter value from one model to another within the Creo session. This is useful for transferring metadata between models, such as copying a description or material parameter from a source part to a target part. The command reads the value from the source model's parameter and writes it to the same or a different parameter on the target model. The video shows how to specify the source model, source parameter, target model, and target parameter in the execution worksheet, and demonstrates the copy operation in action.

Key Steps

  1. Ensure both the source and target models are open in the Creo session
  2. Enter the Copy Parameter command with source and target model and parameter names
  3. Execute the command to transfer the parameter value
  4. Verify the target model received the correct parameter value
  5. Save the target model to persist the copied parameter

Tips

  • Both models must be in session for the copy to work
  • Use Copy Parameter to synchronize metadata between related parts or assemblies
  • Combine with wildcard variants for bulk copy operations across many models
