tbl_parameter : DELETE (wildcard)

Overview

This video demonstrates the tbl_parameter DELETE command with wildcard patterns in Nitro-CELL, which deletes parameters matching a wildcard pattern from Creo models listed in an Excel table. Instead of specifying exact parameter names, engineers can use wildcard characters to match multiple parameters at once, such as deleting all parameters starting with a specific prefix. This is powerful for bulk cleanup operations where many similarly named parameters need to be removed across multiple models. The video covers setting up the table with wildcard patterns, executing the deletion, and verifying the parameters were removed.

Key Steps

  1. Create an Excel table with model names and wildcard parameter patterns
  2. Ensure all target models are in the Creo session
  3. Enter the tbl_parameter DELETE command with wildcard patterns
  4. Execute the command to delete matching parameters from all listed models
  5. Verify the parameters were removed and save the affected models

Tips

  • Use wildcards like * to match multiple parameter names in a single operation
  • Test wildcard patterns on a single model before running across the full table
  • This operation is irreversible — back up models before bulk deletion
