Set Parameter Wildcard

Overview

This video demonstrates the Set Parameter Wildcard command in Nitro-CELL, which updates parameter values across multiple models matching a wildcard pattern in a single operation. Instead of setting parameters one model at a time, the wildcard variant applies the same parameter value to all in-session models whose names match the specified pattern. This is extremely efficient for bulk updates, such as setting a common description or material value across an entire family of parts. The video shows how to construct the wildcard pattern, enter the command, and verify that all matching models received the updated parameter value.

Key Steps

  1. Ensure all target models are loaded in the Creo session
  2. Enter the Set Parameter Wildcard command with the pattern, parameter name, and value
  3. Execute the command to apply the parameter change to all matching models
  4. Review the status output to confirm which models were updated
  5. Save the affected models to persist the changes

Tips

  • Use specific wildcard patterns to target only the intended models
  • Test with a narrow pattern first before applying to a broad set of models
  • Combine with Save Wildcard to save all modified models in one step
