Regenerate Model

Overview

This video demonstrates the Regenerate Model command in Nitro-CELL, which forces Creo Parametric to regenerate the active model. Regeneration recalculates all features, dimensions, and relations in the model, ensuring the geometry is up to date with any parameter or feature changes. This command is essential after modifying parameters or relations through Nitro-CELL, as Creo does not always automatically regenerate after programmatic changes. The video shows how to place the Regenerate command in the execution worksheet, when to use it in a multi-step workflow, and how to interpret regeneration failures. Proper use of Regenerate ensures that saved models reflect all intended changes.

Key Steps

  1. Make parameter or feature changes using other Nitro-CELL commands
  2. Enter the Regenerate Model command in the execution worksheet
  3. Execute the command to force Creo to recalculate the model geometry
  4. Check the status column for regeneration success or failure
  5. Save the model after successful regeneration to persist the updated geometry

Tips

  • Always regenerate after changing parameters or relations to ensure geometry is current
  • Place Regenerate before Save to avoid saving models with stale geometry
  • Regeneration failures often indicate conflicting dimensions or broken relations
