SaveAs Model to Target Dir

Overview​

This video demonstrates the SaveAs Model to Target Directory command in Nitro-CELL, which saves the active Creo model under a new name in a specified directory location. This extends the standard SaveAs command by allowing engineers to control both the filename and the destination folder. This is particularly useful for workflows that involve organizing output files into specific directory structures, such as separating released models from work-in-progress files. The video shows how to specify both the new model name and the target directory path in the execution worksheet, execute the command, and confirm the file was created in the correct location.

Key Steps​

  1. Open the source model in Creo using the Open command
  2. Enter the SaveAs command with the new model name and target directory path
  3. Ensure the target directory exists or will be created by the command
  4. Execute the command to save the model to the specified location
  5. Verify the file was created in the target directory with the correct name

Tips​

  • Use absolute paths for the target directory to avoid ambiguity
  • Create the target directory structure in advance if Nitro-CELL does not auto-create folders
