SmartSync Model

Overview​

This video demonstrates the SmartSync Model command in Nitro-CELL, which intelligently synchronizes model data between the Creo session and the Excel workbook. SmartSync compares the current state of the model in Creo with the data defined in the worksheet and applies only the necessary changes, avoiding redundant operations. This is more efficient than blindly applying all commands, especially in large workflows with many parameters or models. The video shows how SmartSync determines which values need updating, executes only the required changes, and reports what was modified. This command is ideal for iterative workflows where engineers make incremental changes and want to sync without reprocessing everything.

Key Steps​

  1. Set up the data worksheet with the desired target values for the model
  2. Enter the SmartSync command in the execution worksheet
  3. Execute SmartSync to compare current model state with worksheet data
  4. Review the sync report to see which values were updated
  5. Save the model after synchronization to persist the changes

Tips​

  • Use SmartSync for iterative workflows to avoid reprocessing unchanged values
  • SmartSync reduces execution time significantly for large parameter sets
  • Combine with Regenerate after syncing to ensure geometry reflects all changes
