Save Model Wildcard
Overview
This video demonstrates the Save Model Wildcard command in Nitro-CELL, which saves multiple models in a single operation using wildcard pattern matching. Instead of saving each model individually, the wildcard variant allows engineers to specify a pattern — such as all parts matching a naming convention — and save them all at once. This is particularly useful after batch parameter updates or other bulk modifications where many models have been changed in the Creo session. The video shows how to construct the wildcard pattern, enter the command in the execution worksheet, and verify that all matching models were saved. It also covers common wildcard patterns and how Creo resolves them against in-session models.
Key Steps
- Ensure all target models are loaded and modified in the Creo session
- Enter the Save Model Wildcard command with the appropriate pattern
- Execute the command to save all models matching the wildcard
- Review the status output to confirm which models were saved
- Verify the saved files on disk match your expectations
Tips
- Use specific wildcard patterns to avoid accidentally saving unintended models
- Test your wildcard pattern with a dry run or small set before applying to a large batch
- Combine with the Regenerate command to ensure all models are current before saving
