tbl_model : SAVE_AS

Overview​

This video demonstrates the tbl_model SAVE_AS command in Nitro-CELL, which saves Creo models with new names using data from an Excel table. Each row specifies the source model and the new filename to save it as, enabling batch renaming and duplication of models from a spreadsheet. This is useful for creating model variants, copying standard parts with new names, or reorganizing file naming conventions across a set of models. The video covers setting up the table with source and target names, executing the command, and verifying the new files were created.

Key Steps​

  1. Create an Excel table with source model names and new target filenames
  2. Ensure all source models are in the Creo session
  3. Enter the tbl_model SAVE_AS command referencing the table
  4. Execute the command to save each model with its new name
  5. Verify the new model files were created in the target location

Tips​

  • The original model remains unchanged — a new copy is created
  • Ensure target filenames follow Creo naming conventions
  • Combine with parameter updates to customize the saved copies
