Delete Feature
Overview
This video demonstrates the Delete Feature command in Nitro-CELL, which permanently removes a feature from a Creo model. Unlike suppressing, which temporarily hides a feature, deletion removes it entirely from the model tree and geometry. This command is useful for cleanup operations where obsolete or unwanted features need to be permanently removed. The video shows how to identify the feature to delete, enter the command in the execution worksheet, execute it, and verify the feature was removed. It also covers important considerations around parent-child dependencies and what happens to child features when a parent is deleted.
Key Steps
- Open the model containing the feature to delete
- Identify the feature by name or ID in the model tree
- Enter the Delete Feature command with the feature identifier
- Execute the command to permanently remove the feature
- Regenerate and save the model to persist the deletion
Tips
- Deletion is permanent — ensure you truly want to remove the feature before executing
- Check for child features that depend on the deleted feature to avoid model errors
- Use Suppress instead of Delete if you may need the feature again later
